What the Private Covid-19 vaccine is for
Getting the Covid-19 vaccine can:
- help reduce your risk of getting severe symptoms
- help you recover more quickly if you catch COVID-19
- help reduce your risk of having to go to hospital or dying from COVID-19
- protect against different types of COVID-19 virus
You may still get or spread COVID-19 even if you have a vaccine, so it’s important to follow advice about how to avoid catching and spreading COVID-19.
How to get the Private Covid-19 vaccine
Private covid-19 vaccines will be available this winter from our West Totton branch.

Who can get the Private Covid-19 vaccine
If you are not eligible for the NHS Covid-19 vaccine service, but wish to protect yourself or others from infection, you may wish to get the Private Covid-19 vaccine.
This vaccine can be given to patients aged 12 years and over, and is safe if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Most people with allergies can have the COVID-19 vaccine, including if you’ve had a mild allergic reaction to a previous dose, such as a rash, swelling, wheezing or hives.
If you’ve ever had an allergic reaction, tell the pharmacist before you’re vaccinated.
How much does the Private Covid-19 Vaccine cost
The vaccine costs £90 and is a single dose.
Getting the Private Covid-19 vaccine with other vaccines
You can have this vaccine alongside NHS or Private flu jabs, pneumonia vaccines or RSV vaccines.
