COVID VACCINE - AUTUMN/WINTER 2025

Covid-19 seasonal vaccines will be available to book online from 1st September, with the service commencing on Wednesday 1st October 2025.

You can get choose to get your flu jab at the same time.

Vaccines will be available via appointment from:
AR Pharmacy branches in West Totton (Hazel Farm Road), Testwood (Asda) and Milford Pharmacy.

You may be eligible for a vaccine if you are:

  • Aged 75 years or older
  • A resident in a care home for older adults
  • Have a weakened immune system due to a condition such as HIV or AIDS, or due to a treatment such as chemotherapy or steroid medicine.

You may have a weakened immune system due to a health condition, treatment or medicine, including if you:

  • have ever had a blood cancer, such as leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma
  • have had an organ, bone marrow or stem cell transplant
  • have HIV (at any stage)
  • have a genetic disorder affecting your immune system
  • have certain medical treatments, such as steroid medicine (depending on your dose), certain antibody therapies, chemotherapy or radiotherapy (including those whose treatment ended up to 6 months ago)
  • take certain medicines that increase your risk of infection, such as azathioprine, dexamethasone, prednisolone, ciclosporin or mycophenolate (depending on your dose)
  • take long-term immunosuppressive treatment for conditions such as lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, scleroderma and psoriasis

If you are unsure, please speak to your pharmacist, GP or specialist for advice. You can also confirm your eligibility with the healthcare professional at your vaccination appointment.

Booking for Covid-19 vaccines opens 1st September 2025 for eligible patients. The service will run until mid December.

You can book online via the NHS National Booking Service or via the NHS App.

You can call 119 free of charge to book over the phone if you cannot book online. You can speak to a translator if you need to.

You can use textphone 18001 or the NHS 119 British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter service if you have difficulties communicating or hearing, or if you are a BSL user.

What to do if you have coronavirus or symptoms.

If you have tested positive for COVID-19 you should:

  • Stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days to avoid spreading the disease, as many people will no longer be infections are 5 days.
  • Avoiding meeting those who are considered to be high risk from COVID-19 for 10 days, as you can still pass on the infection for up to 10 days.

This starts from the day after you did the test.

Young people under the age of 18 tend to be less infections to others than adults, and are less infections are 3 days if they’re well and do not have a temperature.

If you need to leave your home within 5 days of testing positive there are steps you can take to reduce the risk of spreading the virus:

  • wear a face covering that has more than 1 layer
  • avoid contact with those at higher risk from COVID-19
  • avoid indoor or crowded places
  • avoid close contact with other people
  • avoid touching your face, and cover your nose and mouth when you cough or sneeze
  • thoroughly wash your hands with soap and warm water for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer after coughing or sneezing, and before eating
